What is Joy House?

Joy House is a two-year program that empowers women coming out of domestic violence or overcoming substance dependency. This safe haven and our live-in mentors offer you and your children a stable, nurturing environment to recover, grow and become financially self-sufficient.

Joy House is our transitional housing program for single moms with children who have become homeless as a result of domestic violence. Joy House offers a safe haven where women and kids can re-establish feelings of safety and self-worth, learn new coping skills, form healthy social connections, and build stability for the future. Mothers receive mental health counseling, case management, vocational development, spiritual mentoring, life skills training, financial literacy education, and addictions-recovery sobriety support. The children living at Joy House benefit from the improved mental and physical health of their moms, from safe housing and basic needs being met, and from specialized therapeutic services that include weekly play therapy. Joy House is located in Denver, Colorado.
