Meet Eric

My Story

I was at a point in my life where I would do anything for drugs. I mean anything. I would steal, lie, manipulate and even sell drugs for my next hit.  I remember late one night I was sitting in a vacant park, coming down off my last high.  I was broke with nowhere to go.

Desperate to escape my present reality, I met up with a local drug supplier to earn some fast cash. When I made my first deal, I knew I had hit rock bottom. This was not the life I wanted to live.

I had tried treatment facilities before and failed. The transitional program at Providence Network worked. Rather than isolating or attempting the journey of sobriety alone, I suddenly found myself in a supportive community. I was accountable to the other residents, to my mentors and to my goals.  This was exactly what I needed.

I am so thankful to have my life back. After two years, I graduated from Providence House and moved into Victory Apartments. From there I finished my degree in physical therapy, got a job and now live in Golden with my wife and son. Thank you, Providence Network, for helping me to look at life differently and to truly live as God intended.
